mselect is looking to hire a QC Inspector (Welding/Coating/Pipeline) for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry. Fluency in English is a must.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that the quality requirements of the fabrication, construction and installation activities, as detailed in the client’s main contractor-approved QC procedure and plans, are implemented in accordance with the client’s approved project documents
Ensure that contractors, subcontractors and vendors have the required competent resources, implant internationally acceptable practices and deliver a product in compliance with corporate and project quality requirements
Monitor all site and fabrication yard welding activities and ensure that all welding joints are welded as per approved WPSs
Attend all PQR’s mechanical testing to ensure complete implementation of corporate standard requirements
Witness all contractors’ welder's qualification tests and evaluate their visual and NDT results
Witness all site or fabrication yard NDT daily activities, carry out interpretation for test results, and evaluate the findings outs
Monitor the stage (in-process) inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications, and top-side facilities at contractor fabrication premises and verify the product conformity to corporate standards, project specs, and international codes/standards
Report daily to the QA/QC engineer and advise him on the client’s main contractor compliance with contract procedures and standards and any matters affecting quality
Manage all preparatory and coating work carried out at the contractor’s or subcontractor’s premises which shall be subject to planned inspection
Carry out systematic inspection at each stage of surface preparation, painting/wrapping and repair works
Verify the implementation of the proposed inspection system for all preparatory, painting and wrapping work via a series of hold points in the work schedule, from which the contractor shall not proceed until he is given formal clearance by the engineer
Identify all defective or non-conforming work at each stage shall be rectified to the required standards
Witness all contractors’ painters and blaster's qualifications carried out by paint manufacturers and evaluate their associated testing results
Requirements
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Minimum of a high technical school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry with an international consultancy company, third-party inspection/certification Company, EPIC contractor or end user in major project implementation is essential. Have experience & Technical Knowledge in field joint coating (FJC)
Welding/NDT Certification: Certification from a recognized organization such as AWS, TWI, API, ASME, or ASNT is required, TWI CSWIP 3.2.2 certification in welding is mandatory
Coating Certification: A valid coating certification such as NACE Level II or BGAS-CSWIP Grade I, or an equivalent certification, is preferred
Non-destructive Testing (NDT) Certifications:
ASNT-TC-1A Level II or PCN Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is required, by CORP-QAL-STD-008
Relevant standards include: ANSI/ASNT CP-106:2008 (ISO 9712:2005, Modified): Non-Destructive Testing - Qualification and Certification of Personnel; BS EN473: 2008: Non-destructive Testing — Qualification and Certification of NDT Personnel — General Principles; ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP)
