This individual will provide technical support to the research and scientific investigations for the Bloomfield Center for Leukemia Outcomes Research in the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Duties will include:
Perform flow cytometry to sort patient samples and will serve as the point of contact for flow cytometry studies in the Bloomfield Center.
Perform a variety of molecular, cellular and biological research techniques including PCR reactions, DNA and RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, Northern and Western blot assays, sample processing and library preparation.
Assist with general lab maintenance and troubleshooting of new procedures as well as picking up patient samples from the tissue bank, tissue archives or patient rooms.
Assist with handling of lab animals and routine procedures on lab animals such weight monitoring and administration of medication.
Record research results, summarize data for publications and grant proposals and prepare research progress reports.
Maintain accurate records and have good communication skills.
Attend lab meetings and conduct literature reviews on requested topics.
