About the Role

As a key member of our Roadways Department, you'll perform a variety of essential tasks that directly benefit our community. Your responsibilities will include:

Operating our trucks for snow plowing and hauling debris.

Performing seasonal roadside and drainage maintenance.

Assisting with the construction and repair of town roads.

Leaf Collection

Contributing to vehicle maintenance. This is an active, outdoor role where you'll work in varying weather conditions. Experience with paving, concrete, and heavy equipment operation is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

This full-time position is represented by AFSCME Local 1303-56 with a 40-hour work week and opportunities for overtime. The starting rate of pay is $26.25 per hour, which may be adjusted based on the new contract currently being negotiated.

To join our team, you'll need:

A high school diploma or equivalent.

At least two years of truck driving experience, preferably with heavy equipment.

Experience in vehicle and road maintenance is a plus.

A valid Connecticut Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

A clean Motor Vehicle Record.

The ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen.
