Manual Setter/Operator

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a skilled Manual Setter/Operator to join our client, a secure and well-established engineering business based in Ashton-under-Lyne (OL7) This is an excellent opportunity, offering stability, weekly pay, fixed shifts, and genuine long-term career prospects.

Required:-

Manual Vertical Borer

Manual Horizontal Borer

Shifts:

Days: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm

Nights: Monday to Thursday, 6:00pm – 6:00am - (Shifts are fixed, not rotating)

Salary: £34,320 per annum + overtime (time and a third weekdays, time and a half weekends)

Paid breaks on night shifts

£250 health and safety bonus every 6 months

Day-to-day duties

As a Manual Setter/Operator, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

Setting and operating manual vertical boring machines to produce medium to heavy components

Working accurately to customer drawings and engineering specifications

Carrying out self-inspection of work using measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met

Supporting production schedules, including regular overtime when required

Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times

Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment

Essential skills

To be successful as a Manual Setter/Operator, you will need:

Proven experience in manual vertical boring, or a strong background in turning/lathe work

The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately

Confidence in using measuring equipment for self-inspection

A strong commitment to health and safety standards

Desirable Skills

This company do operate CNC Machines so if you have any skills in this area that would be welcome but not essential
