Permitting Specialist Position Responsibilities: As a Permitting Specialist, you will play an important role in assisting with the development of In- Situ Recovery (ISR) permit and license applications for new and existing ISR operations to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. This position will assist with the development of the required Agreement State License, WDEQ-LQD ISR Mine Permit, BLM Plan of Operations, and similar documents. This includes the management of outside consultants and contractors and providing technical support for existing operations. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Permit Preparation and Submission: o Prepare, compile, and submit environmental, operational, and safety permits in

compliance with state and federal regulations applicable to ISR uranium mining. Assist in the preparation of permitting applications, environmental impact assessments, technical reports, and associated documentation.

• Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: o Monitor changes in regulatory requirements, particularly related to uranium ISR

mining, and ensure that all site operations maintain compliance with updated standards. Maintain accurate records and reports related to compliance, inspections, and permitting.

• Agency and Stakeholder Liaison: o Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies, including the state

environmental agencies, and local authorities. Represent the company in meetings, hearings, and field inspections as required, building and maintaining productive relationships with agency personnel.

• Internal Coordination: o Collaborate with internal teams including geology, engineering, health & safety,

and operations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and permitting conditions. Advise project teams on permitting timelines, requirements, and any regulatory constraints impacting project milestones.

• Compliance Reporting and Documentation: o Prepare and submit required periodic reports, including those for groundwater

monitoring, wellfield reclamation, and environmental performance. Document all compliance activities, inspections, and regulatory communications to support ongoing auditing and reporting requirements.

• Site Inspections and Audits: o Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that operational practices align with

permitting conditions and environmental regulations. o Identify potential compliance issues, propose corrective actions, and track their

implementation. Job Requirements

• This is a salary-exempt position that involves working in an office setting as well as outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices in all work-related activities.

• Must be able to recognize hazardous conditions, follow company safety policies and practices, and to engage in a strong safety culture.

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• The successful candidate will be required to submit to mandatory drug and alcohol testing prior to employment.

Qualifications:

• A minimum BS in Environmental Sciences, Geology, Engineering, or a related field; experience in the energy/mining industry a plus.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in permitting or regulatory compliance, preferably in mining, oil & gas, or a related industrial sector.

• Strong knowledge of NRC, EPA, and state regulations specific to ISR uranium mining operations.

• Familiarity with environmental monitoring protocols and groundwater management requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in technical writing and report preparation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Proficiency with software applications for data analysis and reporting; GIS experience is a plus.
