Assistant Director, Hudson Community Education and Recreation (HCER) JobID: 2766 Position Type: Community Education & Recreation/Program Coordinator Date Posted: 9/24/2025 Location: District Closing Date: 9/30/25 or until filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Description: Assistant Director, HCER Grade 2 Assignment: 260 Annual Days Hours: Hours will vary by season Starting Pay: Range established by the Board of Education, starting at $75,289, commensurate with education level, qualifications, and experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management, Recreation or Education preferred; experience with recreation programming, community programming, sports league management and special event planning.

* Demonstrates advanced computer technology, including proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel and Canva.

* Demonstrates ability to think creatively, effectively solves problems and organizes multiple events simultaneously.

Demonstrates skill in developing/managing people and a "hands-on" leadership style.

* Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.

* Certification in CPR/AED or willingness to become certified upon offer of employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Assist in the implementation and coordination of preschool, youth and adult community recreational and educational programming.

Programs include after school activities, summer camps and special events as assigned from the director.

* Serve as Site Supervisor for HCER programs and leagues (e.g.

Rec Basketball League, Adult Softball, Saturday Hoops). Manage multiple sites during games and facility scheduling for season practices and games.

Track and record game scores and assist with equipment ordering and distribution.

* Assist with the planning and execution of marketing and communication strategies to include, but not limited to, email communication, social media and printed materials.

* Coordinate the sales of program guide advertisements.

Provide assistance to advertisers for concept and design of ad materials.

* Assist with the men's summer athletic programs.

Develop schedule, track team scores, communicate with games officials and teams throughout the season.

* Participate in collaborative planning and development of HCER identified goals through communication with staff and the director.

* Protect district property.

Ensure that program facilities are secured at the end of the day.

* Strengthen relationships with district partners through collaborative initiatives.

* Attend community fairs, programs, and meetings to support district and departmental goals.

* Conduct research to identify the needs and interests of adults in the community.

* Develop, implement, and monitor adult programs, ensuring alignment with budgetary * Work with the Community Aquatics Coordinator to enhance programming at Ada Cooper Miller Natatorium (i.e.

water-related wellness opportunities, scuba diving class, etc.) * Coordinate outside rentals with community members, pool staff and outside vendors.

* Contribute to district committees as required to align with organizational objectives.

* Continue to seek professional development and continued education opportunities * Obtain industry certifications related to responsibilities (e.g.

NAYS, OPRA, etc.) * Assist in the development and monitoring of departmental operating budgets to ensure optimal resource utilization.
