What You'll Do: Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office/Fiscal (Facility Management) Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223 Work hours: 8:00 am - 5:00pm Under supervision of the Real Estate Administrator, negotiate, research & prepare all legal documentation required in real estate transactions for acquisition, lease, etc.

for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS): * Manage daily operations involving lease evaluation &/or negotiation concerns; * Review lease program activities to ensure compliance with fiscal related policies & procedures; * Aid in resolving lease issues with Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) & tenants, landlords, contractors, architects, Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Deputy Registrars, County Officials & building maintenance superintendents; * Analyze & evaluate programs & procedures by identifying problems during lease review, providing resolutions & recommending proposed modifications to current lease review processes; * Collaborate on budget preparation & administration; Manage & prepare budgets, & initiate requisitions (REQS) in Ohio Buys for ODPS Leased Facilities, projects &/or operations; Utilize OAKS FIN for Contract Input, lessor payment status & thresholds; * Review proposals, prepare budgets, & monitor &/or manage expenses & budget for each project; * Ensure proper controls, tracking costs & records are maintained; Confirm Office of Budget Management (OBM) guidelines are maintained & adhered; * Secure remaining funds from completed projects for use on other current or future projects; * Utilize OAKS FIN, to assist with the real property asset reporting to OAKS Asset Management & RISK Management annual property insurance renewal with DAS; * Coordinate, review, implement &/or maintain office files of contractual correspondence financial status (i.e., asset reporting, real property asset management, deed & easement documents & procedures); * Act for administrator in their absence; * Advise &/or provide recommendations to the Real Estate Administrator &/or department heads on policy changes affecting lease evaluation &/or negotiation; * Provide support in developing & revising programs to include preparation of project plans, calculations, terms & conditions of leases, & writes specifications on building construction projects; * Prepare & direct preparation of correspondence, reports & policy statements; * Write & organize objectives, goals & action plans for lease agreements & submit to superior; * Direct development of reports submitted to Controlling Board & Controlling Board requests & process through completion; * Assist in the development of new forms &/or procedures used during contract & lease review negotiations; * Perform other related duties as assigned.
