YOUR DAY TO DAY: (Role summary): Performs simple, semi routine to complex electronic or electro-mechanical tests on Traveling Wave Tubes (Helix, Coupled Cavity, or others) where a limited degree of versatility is required for testing specific assemblies, sub-assemblies' components under limited supervision.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: (Responsibilities): * Perform electrical and RF testing on Helix Traveling Wave Tubes (Helix, CCT, or others). Comparing test results with specifications and standards, keeping appropriate records of test results, and communicating results to supervisor.
* Setup, calibrate, and operate specialized test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, network analyzers, HV power supplies). * Troubleshoots device performance issues and work closely with engineering teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Record, analyze, and report detailed test data while maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with company and government standards.
* Support the development and refinement of test procedures, fixtures, and diagnostics.
* Ensure strict adherence to high-voltage safety protocols and cleanroom or ESD-sensitive procedures.
* Handles classified components and systems in compliance with U.S.
Government security regulations.
NOTE: The duties listed above reflect general responsibilities necessary for the performance of the job and may not include all the specific job activities YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE: (Minimum requirements) Note: This role requires the progression of education, training, experience, technical skills and independence, with an increasing emphasis on problem-solving, equipment expertise, and leadership.
: * Education/Experience: * High School Diploma or GED or AA degree; technical school or military training a plus.
* Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a DOD security clearance; and/or * 2-5 years of hands-on testing preferred.
In-depth knowledge of microwave test equipment and high voltage safety practices.
* Physical: Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
* Skills: * Effective English oral communications skills * Basic math skills and ability to follow procedures.
* Familiarity with safety practices and high voltage equipment.
* Willingness to learn RF/microwave testing techniques, or have proficiency using RF equipment and tools.
Preferred proficiency in configuring and setting up advanced RF equipment.
* Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, timecard entry, databases). * Willingness to work overtime/weekends and support the team.
* Ability to conduct testing tasks independently (preferred) * Ability to problem-solve.
* Ability to train junior technicians a plus.
* Must be able to rework non-conforming assemblies to make them viable.
