As a Manager, Integration & Test Engineering at Impulse you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for spacecraft system-level integration, environmental testing, and verification activities. This role is critical in ensuring our spacecraft perform flawlessly from the lab to orbit. Combining strong technical expertise in spacecraft integration and test campaigns with proven leadership skills to manage teams, schedules, and cross-functional interfaces.
Responsibilities
Hire, lead and mentor a team of integration and test engineers, technicians, and support staff
Own the spacecraft I&T plan from early design through launch, including schedule, resources, and execution
Oversee system-level integration activities, including mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces
Manage environmental test campaigns (thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, propulsion functional, etc.) to ensure compliance with customer and mission requirements
Ensure all test procedures, configurations, and results are reviewed, approved, and traceable
Collaborate closely with Design/Responsible Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to resolve issues and maintain alignment
Drive risk identification, mitigation, and contingency planning throughout the I&T lifecycle
Represent the I&T team in internal design reviews, customer meetings, and launch campaign readiness reviews
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field
8+ years of demonstrated experience in spacecraft or satellite integration & test
3+ years in a leadership/management role
Demonstrated knowledge of spacecraft subsystems (propulsion, avionics, structures, thermal, power, RF, etc.) and system integration practices
4+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with environmental test campaigns and data analysis
Preferred Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
Experience with propulsion system integration & test
Experience with scaling spacecraft integration & test
Demonstrated experience supporting launch site operations and spacecraft shipment/deployment - specifically launch vehicle integration
Familiarity with space industry standards (NASA GEVS, ECSS, MIL-STD, etc.)
Demonstrated success in building and scaling engineering teams
Experience setting up, maintaining, and expanding spacecraft integration & test facilities
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
