Cost Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join a dynamic manufacturing company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Responsibilities:

• Analyze and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure proper valuation and reporting.

• Prepare and review journal entries related to cost accounting and inventory adjustments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost accounting processes and ensure efficiency.

• Conduct detailed cost analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Assist with general ledger reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Develop and implement procedures to streamline reporting and enhance operational workflows.

• Provide insights on cost trends and inventory management to support business strategies.

• Work closely with auditors to provide documentation and explanations during audits.

• Generate reports and data visualizations to communicate financial performance effectively.• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting or inventory management.

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

• Proficiency in cost analysis and inventory accounting principles.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify process improvement opportunities.

• Familiarity with manufacturing industry practices and standards.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
