GS Worldwide is actively seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team in Palmdale, CA. The selected candidate will perform advanced structural analysis on airframe primary and secondary structures, using computational tools and methods to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with program requirements. This is a hands-on technical role working with cutting-edge aerospace designs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform stress analysis of airframe primary and secondary structures, subsystems, and installations
Conduct hand calculations and Excel-based structural analysis to validate designs
Use NASTRAN and PATRAN or HyperMesh for structural mechanics simulation
Establish and interpret structural specifications and requirements for new designs
Work with CATIA V5 to interpret and apply detail, assembly, and installation drawings and models
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in design, testing, and manufacturing
Document and communicate analysis results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards
Required Qualifications
Level 4 experience required in the following areas:
Airframe primary structure layout and sizing
Hand/Excel-based analysis of aerospace structures
NASTRAN and PATRAN or HyperMesh
CATIA V5
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX operating systems
Ability to interpret detailed aerospace drawings and 3D models
Desired Qualifications
Experience with Altair HyperMesh as a pre-processor and TMP Vision for post-processing
Familiarity with Slim, Vision, IDAT, and CATIA 3DX
Background in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
Experience with composite structure stress analysis
