Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting a culture of safety and excellence within the healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.

Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.

Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.

Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.

Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.

Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, and delegate tasks appropriately.

Promote safety in the workplace by identifying risks and adhering to safety policies.

Assume charge responsibility as requested and engage in team-building activities.

Pursue professional development through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.

ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH).

A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
