Description
MDK, an innovative law firm, is seeking a Director of Title Solutions to be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, daily operations, and performance of the title agency in alignment with MDK’s broader business goals. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction through effective leadership, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration with the law firm. The position plays a critical role in integrating title services with MDK’s legal services workflows and driving business development of real estate owned, retail and refinance transactions by leveraging technology to improve service delivery. As a key member of the leadership team, this role fosters a high-performance culture and positions the title agency for long-term growth and success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic and Operational Leadership:
Collaborate with MDK’s senior leadership team to translate strategic objectives into operational initiatives that support growth and efficiency.
Lead and oversee daily operations of the title company, ensuring optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Lead the title curative function to ensure the timely identification and resolution of title issues.
Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity, scalability, and service delivery.
Optimize resource allocation and budgeting to meet financial goals and operational requirements.
Conduct regular audits of title files and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements alongside MDK’s compliance team.
Leverage technology to improve title services, including title search tools, document management systems, and communication platforms.
Client Relationship and Risk Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, realtors, lenders, private selling officers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and professional closing experience.
Manage operational and compliance risks ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with real estate professionals, lenders, and other potential clients to expand the agency's reach.
Partner with MDK’s marketing team to promote the agency’s services, including participation in industry events and networking opportunities.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends and competitive dynamics to inform business development strategies.
Stay informed about industry technologies and innovations to enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery.
Performance Management and Data-Driven Decision Making:
Design and implement systems to track business performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) across the title company.
Ensure performance measurement tools generate timely and accurate insights to inform operational decisions.
Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and lead the resolution of performance issues.
Collaborate with senior leadership to define and refine KPIs aligned with business goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing talent, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Provide training and guidance on business, operational, and title-specific issues.
Promote a team environment aligned with MDK’s mission, values, and culture.
Law Firm Integration and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as the primary liaison between the title agency and the law firm, ensuring alignment of title services with legal workflows and client expectations.
Collaborate with senior leadership across legal, HR, RMBD, technology and finance functions to ensure cohesive operations.
Customize title services and solutions to meet MDK’s clients’ specific needs.
Deliver specialized training to MDK staff on title-related matters to facilitate efficient, accurate transaction.
Monitor joint performance metrics and provide recommendations to align title agency and law firm goals.

Qualifications
Requirements
Eight or more years of experience in the title or real estate industry, with at least five years in a leadership or operational management role.
Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or related field.
Certified Title Examiner, Certified Title Professional, and Title Insurance License preferred.
Strong knowledge of Qualia. Experience leveraging technology to automate and enhance operations and overall efficiency.
Deep knowledge of title processes, regulations, and compliance requirements. Strong familiarity with real estate law and transaction workflows.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with track record of using data and KPIs to drive performance.
Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing talent.
Experience in setting operational strategy, managing budgets, and driving process improvements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints, and able to reprioritize throughout the day as needed.
Active Notary commission.
