The role

Our client is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join their workshop team. You will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse range of vehicles in a busy dealership environment. You’ll work with modern diagnostic tools, follow manufacturer standards, collaborate with other technicians and advisors, and support the high quality and reputation of FCMC.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with service advisors, parts team, and fellow technicians for efficient workflow

• Participating in ongoing training and development

• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior technicians

• Assisting manufacturers with technical diagnostic challenges when needed

About you

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)

• At least three years of post-trade experience

• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time effectively

• Experience with diagnostic tools and diagnosing faults in engines and electrical systems (preferred but not essential)

• Experience or familiarity with any of the brands handled by FCMC is an advantage (not mandatory)

• A proactive, professional attitude and willingness to take on challenges

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

What’s on offer

Our client offers a competitive salary package, robust management support, and access to ongoing manufacturer training. You’ll be part of a supportive, team-focused culture within the broader Pickerings network, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Recruitment for this position is being managed by Yakr Pty Ltd on behalf of our client.
