The role

Our client is seeking experienced Motor Mechanics to join their growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure safety and optimal performance. You will work with a variety of makes and models while contributing to a professional, team-focused workshop.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting inspections and diagnostics to identify and assess mechanical issues.

• Performing repairs and maintenance, including engines, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems.

• Using diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex problems and recommend solutions.

• Following manufacturer guidelines and industry standards to ensure quality outcomes.

• Maintaining detailed service and repair records.

• Staying updated on the latest automotive technologies and practices.

• Communicating clearly with clients regarding repair needs and outcomes.

• Upholding safety standards and maintaining an organised workspace.

• Collaborating with service advisors, technicians, and the parts department to ensure efficient operations.

• Participating in ongoing training and professional development.

• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior technicians.

• Assisting manufacturers with specific diagnostic requirements when necessary.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).

• A minimum of three years’ post-trade experience.

• Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience diagnosing faults in engines and electrical systems (preferred but not essential).

• Experience with any of the listed brands (advantageous but not required).

• A proactive and positive approach, with a willingness to take on new challenges.
