Hotel Accountants ensure proper invoice coding and processing, complete month-end accounting processes and statements, reconcile accounts, complete journal entries and edits, and lead the total hotel accounting process.
Successful candidates will proficiently manage many transactions while maintaining exceptional organization of data.
What you'll be doing… * Ensure hotel invoices are correctly coded and processed * Review of the work of the Rooms Night Audit and F&B ensuring accuracy of the information as reported.
Properly allocate revenues and post to the appropriate ledger accounts.
* Complete month-end accounting closing process * Issue financial statement packages including maintenance of recurring and reversing journal entries, accruals, income journal, reclassification, and other required journal entries * Support and engage with hotel teams to identify and resolve accounting challenges, monthly financials, and other research and financial analysis * Prepare month end account reconciliation and accounting work reports * Manage weekly aging reports, open folios and sales billing * File and distribute credit card cancellations, bulletins and credit warnings.
Process and follow-up on all returned checks accepted as cash payment.
Record General Ledger and City Ledger reconciliations.
* Support corporate accounting leaders in reporting requirements * Review and verify the accuracy of revenues reported to Accounts Receivable by balancing the accounts to appropriate ledgers.
This is done on a daily and monthly basis * Update and manage fixed asset detail ledgers and depreciation * Assist managing audits by providing audit schedules, data requests, and auditor inquiries * Comply with local, state, and federal laws and guidelines and with company policy * Always maintain professionalism consistent with company expectations * Follow all policies and procedures put forth by Hotel LeVeque.
* Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager.
You should be able to… Sit 8+ hours per day at desk/computer Requirements… * Bachelor's Degree preferred.
At least five years of prior experience.
Or equivalent education and experience.
* Ability to multi-task working in a business environment.
* Friendly, outgoing and dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.
* Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations.
