Join the Team at a Leading Coastal Hospital as a Rehabilitation Staff Specialist / Snr Staff Specialist

The Rehabilitation Unit is a 10-bed facility that primarily manages complex neurorehabilitation cases. It also supports patients who are not yet able to transition to other facilities due to ongoing medical or surgical needs, such as dialysis. The multidisciplinary team includes a rehabilitation Specialist Medical Officer (SMO), an advanced trainee registrar, a junior doctor (either a JHO or SHO), and occasionally a final-year medical student. Allied health professionals on the team comprise a senior occupational therapist, senior physiotherapist, rotating staff in speech pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics, and physiotherapy, as well as a psychologist, a rehabilitation/orthopaedic Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), and a social worker.

Hospital

Currently undergoing a $250 million redevelopment of the Base Hospital, which will add an additional 112 inpatient beds to the already existing large facility and expand outpatient and support services. Clinicians are exposed to a challenging and rewarding clinical case mix, including busy inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine, paediatrics, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology, and mental health. These services are well integrated with active emergency medicine, anaesthetics, and intensive care departments, supported by a broad range of allied health services.

Substantially Comparable Rehab Specialists

NZ Rehab Specialist looking to relocate

IMG Rehab Specialist with interview date/ looking to be assessed

AFRM Advanced Trainees within 6 months of receiving fellowship
