The Resource Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of sustainability programs, projects and policies for the Department of Athletics (ATH) and units within the Office of Business Advancement (BA). The Resource Stewardship Coordinator works closely with Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) Sustainability on program development around the institutional Resource Stewardship Sustainability goals for ATH and BA, with primary focus on recycling and waste reduction (determine funding, project definition, waste audits, staff training and program management), carbon neutrality, and the purchase of environmentally preferable products.

The Resource Stewardship Coordinator develops tactics to integrate sustainability principles into the operational functions of ATH/BA; utilizes general industry knowledge and professional experience of operations, in-house expertise, peer institution practices, industry trends and innovations and other resources to develop ideas to advance ATH/BA’s sustainability efforts, and evaluates opportunities for technical feasibility, cost efficiencies across units, and acceptability by the ATH/BA community; works with and communicates on a regular basis with ATH/BA units, users of ATH/BA facilities, and other relevant entities to establish and promote sustainability policies and programs that maximize the environmental and financial performance of ATH/BA, establish ATH/BA as a national leader in the field of sustainability, and work with the internal communications team to publicize and promote ATH/BA initiatives and accomplishments.

This position assists department leaders to develop annual sustainability goals for ATH/BA facilities and units, establishes baselines, creates annual benchmarking reports and documents annual progress; manages the Zero Waste Stadium Program, as well as zero waste events at other ATH and BA facilities; manages ATH/BA Sustainability Committee meetings; monitors ATH/BA sustainability performance; identifies opportunities for grant funding, rebates, and other savings programs; conducts facility tours to highlight and educate on ATH/BA sustainability programs and processes; speaks at classes and conferences; and serves as the ATH/BA representative at institutional Resource Stewardship Committee meetings.

Supervises approximately 15 student workers and/or interns. Work may occur on nights, weekends and holidays. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
