Job Title: Drafting Manager Job Description We are seeking an experienced Drafting Manager to lead and develop our Drafting Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and timely drafting solutions for steel manufacturing projects.
This role involves overseeing drafting schedules, reviewing designs, and enhancing drafting standards and practices.
AutoDesk Inventor Responsibilities * Lead, mentor, and develop the Drafting Department to achieve team and company goals.
* Oversee drafting schedules and ensure timely, accurate deliverables for steel manufacturing projects.
* Review engineered designs and specifications for constructability and manufacturability.
* Check and approve drawing packages prior to release for fabrication.
* Develop, maintain, and continuously improve drafting standards, workflows, and best practices.
* Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing to align deliverables with project requirements.
* Drive adoption of new digital drafting tools, CAD software, and model-based drafting.
Essential Skills * Associate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). * Minimum of 7 years of progressive drafting and design experience with utility tapered tubular steel poles used in transmission lines and substations.
* At least 3 years in a drafting management role.
* Proficiency in CAD software.
* Solid understanding of AWS weld symbols and structural component detailing.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications * Familiarity with additional digital drafting tools and technologies is a plus.
Work Environment The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, focusing on collaboration with Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams.
The role involves working with advanced CAD software and digital drafting tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
The position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, Texas.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
