Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Med Surg/Tele position focused on surgical and burn patients, requiring an OH or compact RN license and strong Med Surg/Tele experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit with 22 beds (16 rooms) caring for adults and geriatrics

Patient population includes burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgery cases

Special procedures performed include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy

Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management

12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, scheduled three times per week

Every other or every third weekend coverage is required

Floating within the hospital system is required

Responsibilities include providing specialized post-surgical and burn care, including performing advanced wound and burn therapies

Extensive support services available, including IV/pharmacy, respiratory, physical therapy, social work, transport, and rapid response

Candidates must promptly complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements as instructed after contract signing

All requested time off must be submitted with the application and built into the contract

Former employees are eligible if they have not worked at the facility for at least six months; current employees are not eligible

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license must be in hand at the time of consideration

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required

At least 2 years of recent Med Surg/Tele experience with adult and geriatric populations

Two professional references required, with at least one from a recent supervisor or manager

Previous charge RN and teaching hospital experience are preferred
