In the role of Service Delivery Manager - South, you will manage & develop a team of field service engineers and support staff that are fully committed to delivering world class customer service, promoting the HIAB brand and constantly looking for improvements in our service offering. You will ensure that all product lines are treated with the same urgency and that we have the correct staff levels and training to cover demand.

This position is on-site, but includes frequent travelling to other locations in Southern UK. We are looking for someone based in Birmingham, or elsewhere in the Midland area.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Main Tasks and Accountabilities:

Ensure safe and efficient service work from both a personnel and equipment perspective

Accountable for the field service P&L in the region

Accountable for the services customer experience

Accountable for the Brand image (workshop, vans, service engineers)

Accountable for employee engagement and training development

Responsible for local human resources management and planning

Strategy:

Due to installed base knowledge, finds opportunities for service sales

Develops a close relationship with equipment sales, supporting customer visits whenever required

Works closely with the Service sales team to ensure all products are covered and that service products are promoted to the market

Develops on-site crane testing offered locally

Operations:

Manage the available billable hours

Ensure ProCare remains profitable

Have a focus on equipment types and a focus on handover excellence

Training & People:

Responsible to drive and develop training for own employees to secure high competence in maintaining our products

Responsible for local technical support (first line intervention)

Responsible for local development programs of the service personnel

Accountable to recruit, train, retain and fire services resources.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

Suitable educational background on technical and commercial subjects (bachelor/academic level or similar through experience)

Working experience:

Proven experience of and leadership in operational service management

Ability to deliver service business sales and profitability

Strong business mindset with commercial knowledge

Service management skills including competence in logistics and spare-parts

Competence and skills:

Service management skills including competence in logistics, and spare parts

Innovative and customer-focused working approach seeks to provide solutions for our customers by cooperating closely with customers, dealers, other functions

Technical skills and product knowledge

System understanding (SAP) and the implementation of new field service systems/tools and processes in the past is beneficial

Strong leadership capabilities and skills in how to develop the team and team members into high performers – the capability to manage and allocate resources in an efficient way

Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build long term relationships

Fluent English language skills.
