Their role includes planning project phases and identifying additional services.
They may also oversee the location's quality program as a Supervising Laboratory Technician.rnTesting: Perform and report findings of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt testing in the laboratory under little to no observation of more experienced technicians and/or professionals.rnEquipment: Maintain testing equipment in good working order and perform maintenance and calibration.
rnCoordination of Others: May assign testing to other staff on projects of any size, and perform preliminary review of their testing results.rnTraining: Effectively train and mentor staff in testing.
Perform programmatic test method evaluations of personnel and equipment.rnProposal Preparation: Assist Project Management staff with the review of plans and specifications for the determination of testing requirements and frequencies.rn rnMinimum Qualifications:rnrnHigh School diploma/GED with Vocational training, a plusrnAssociate degree in civil engineering technology, a plusrn5+ years of experience in a construction materials laboratoryrnFive(5) or more active certifications:rnrnAmerican Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory TechnicianrnInternational Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)rnDOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and ConcreternrnrnEffective math skills with a strong understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measurernEffective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English languagernProficiently complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device, using Microsoft Office and emailrnrn rnWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:rnYou are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment:rnrnWorking outdoors in varying weather conditions rnStanding up to 8-12 hours a dayrnRoutinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment) rnManeuver field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sitesrnWorking outside of normal business hours when necessary
