Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist experienced in PET/CT and general nuclear medicine for a weekday role with a flexible start time and varied clinical caseload.
Responsibilities
Position is based in a hospital nuclear medicine unit handling both inpatient and outpatient cases
Shifts are Monday through Friday with varied start times between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM, and one evening shift and one Saturday per month
Optional 10-hour shifts may be available during holiday weeks
Role involves operating 2 PET/CT scanners with a daily caseload of approximately 33 PET/CT scans
Patient population is primarily oncology with whole-body FDG, brain, cardiac, and neuroendocrine imaging
Uses PACS system for imaging and documentation
No call responsibilities
Federal holidays are off
Duties include performing PET/CT imaging and related nuclear medicine scans for a primarily oncology population
Supportive team environment with first-time travelers welcome
Reference and fingerprinting process requires prompt completion after booking
Restricted time off during February and March
Scrubs are not provided; preferred color is grey
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
Former employees are eligible if they have not worked at the facility in the past 6 months
Current employees at this facility are not eligible for travel roles
Requirements
Minimum experience in both PET/CT and general nuclear medicine is required
Proficiency with IV starts and PACS system
BLS certification required
ARRT or NMTCB certification required
State license required if applicable
Experience with both inpatient and outpatient workflows
Two professional references required, one must be from a manager, director, or supervisor
