Summary of objectives:
The Operator is responsible for operating extrusion lines in the T Building.
Essential Functions:
· Work safely, identify unsafe conditions, and take action to mitigate.
· Read and comply with written operating procedures
· Read the production schedule and a production work order. Set-up raw materials and machine conditions to meet the needs of the work order.
· Locate, retrieve, and stage raw material and packaging supplies using a forklift
· Read Set-up instructions, and set machine operating conditions via a computerized operator interface
· Calibrate selected operating equipment
· Start-up and shut down the manufacturing line
· Monitor machine operating conditions, alarms, and on-line gauges. Independently react to correct deviations.
· Monitor product quality during production
· Monitor machine for equipment malfunctions
· Assist Maintenance Technicians in repairing equipment malfunctions
· Use a hoist to handle finished product
· Take product samples
· Perform quality inspection and testing on product
· Enter quality data into a computerized system
· Respond to process or quality upsets. Troubleshoot and correct independently.
· Complete paperwork (logs, checklists, etc.)
· Package and label finished product
· Perform computerized transactions to create inventory and to consume raw material
· Stage finished product in warehouse using a forklift
· Package, label, and stage scrap materials
· Maintain housekeeping in work area
· Execute product changes
· Work all shifts
· Work overtime as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move parts and supplies, up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – This is a full-time position. The shift is a 12-hour rotating shift. Overtime work is required occasionally.

Required Education and Experience
· HS Diploma or GED equivalent is highly preferred. In lieu of Diploma or GED, years of experience, knowledge, skills, and fit will be considered.
