Meta Reality Labs Research is developing future products in augmented reality and virtual reality with breakthrough work in computer vision, advanced optics, interaction technologies, eye tracking, mixed reality, and new ways to map the human body.
As a Research Product Manager, you will work closely with research and product teams to define requirements and drive the development roadmap of a new-to-world research platform to accelerate the development of AR, AI and robotics.
Our team envisions, creates, incubates, and transfers advanced technologies from research to product.
Research product management roles can span the boundaries of integrated hardware/software systems, interaction design, application experiences, user interfaces, and machine learning/artificial intelligence, with the opportunity to collaborate with both the Ph.D.
researchers in the field and pioneering product development teams.
Qualifications: 8+ years product management experience, working with both software and hardware teams Experience working in Machine perception, AI or Robotics Experience driving strategic plans with multiple stakeholders Experience collaborating and working across operating styles to bring together multiple perspectives Proven experience working in ambiguity and working through organic exploration of concepts Experience bringing structure and adapting to change.
Experience thinking strategically and breaking down a problem to execute and gain traction Experience in early stage/research incubation teams Responsibilities: Ramp up to multiple areas of unique, ground-breaking research and develop an understanding of their potential capabilities and limitations.
Apply product management best practices to creatively solve complex, ambiguous, and novel problems.
Provide vision and create roadmaps for development of rapid prototyping environments and research platform, pulling together building blocks and requirements from within team and cross-company Develop strategic relationships with peer teams, including research, design, product management, software platform, hardware platform, machine learning, and user research teams Collaborate with product and design teams across Meta, AR and AI to develop experience prototypes using new hardware/software systems to validate concepts and derive metrics Continually assess internal and external customer needs and opportunities versus technology feasibility, adjusting priorities as needed.
Understand the social and privacy implications of future HW prototype and SW architecture decisions - and work to advocate and implement decisions and technologies that safeguard our customers.
