Duties andResponsibilities
Maintain goodinterpersonal relationships with facility staff, healthcare professionals, andvendors (hospitals, home health agencies, hospice care, nursing homes, etc.) toprovide the best level of care for residents.
• Maintain strictconfidentiality of resident/staff information and promptly investigate staff orresident complaints.
• Receive andfollow reception schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined inour established policies and procedures.
• Responsible foranswering the telephone, determine nature of call, and relay information withinthe facility, as necessary.
• Receive inquiriesand releases information in accordance with established policies andprocedures.
• Maintain acurrent file/list of patients/residents by name and room number, emergencyphone numbers of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel, etc.
• Receive requestfrom within the facility and locate personnel through the phone/pager system.
• Givedirections/information to visitors, guest, patients/residents, vendors, etc.
• Reportssuspicious persons information to supervisor immediately.
• Ensureguests/visitors/vendors sign in at the front desk, obtain a guest badge, andabide by exiting rules and refuse admission to persons as directed.
• Attend andparticipate in In-Service and On-The-Job training programs as directed.
• Ensureadministrative supplies have been replenished in work areas, as necessary.
• Ensure thatwork/assignment areas and facility lobby are neat, clean, and presentable.
• Must demonstratedependable, regular attendance.
• Must be able toread, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able tosit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittentlyduring the workday.
• Must be able tolift 35 pounds floor to waist, lift 35 pounds waist to shoulder, lift and carry35 pounds, and push/pull 35 pounds.
• Must be able toassist in the evacuation of patients.
• Other duties asassigned.
SpecializedRequirements
• Create andmaintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, aswell as a calm environment throughout the facility.
• Followestablished safety procedures and precautions when operating office equipment.
• Ability tocommunicate professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors,government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Ability tomulti-task and prioritize duties in an organized and efficient manner.
• Ability toproblem solve and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Possess workingknowledge of computer systems and software.
WorkingConditions
Subject tofrequent interruptions.
• Involved withpatients, employees, visitors, government personnel, etc.
• Subject tohostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, etc.
• Subject to falls,burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday.
• Possible exposureto infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.
Educationand Experience
Must be a highschool graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in askilled nursing facility preferred.
