The Role
This role is responsible for the credit and collections functions for all business divisions. Will manage a small team of AR representatives to ensure monthly/yearly goals are met. This role ensures timely and accurate collections of all billed amounts and work with the sales and sales support teams to develop strategy related to customer payment & collections.
Points of responsibility include:
Responsible for developing and administering all credit and collections policies and programs.
Partner with key financial, commercial, and customer contacts to drive timely cash collection and dispute resolutions
Develop best practices to streamline workflows and improve processes
Actively participate in the collection process to reduce A/R balances & correct for billing issues
Generate & analyze weekly AR reports for management & sales team
Resolve internal/external customer inquiries timely
Produce monthly statements to customers
Manage rebate programs - depending on customer
Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts
Assess, monitor, and review customer credit limits
Review & process credit applications for new customers
Handles Tax Exempt Certificates
Other tasks and duties based upon business needs.
Skills/Qualifications
5+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, and collections experience
Experience in managing direct reports
Must be familiar with credit procedures
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field
Communication: ability to effectively communicate verbally in-person and on the phone with team members, customers, and manager
Ability to effectively collaborate with others to reach mutually agreeable outcomes
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrate a strong customer orientation
Computer skills in Excel/NetSuite/Salesforce
Open office environment
Schedule is Monday-Friday; standard business hours or as needed to perform the responsibilities of the role
