Essential Functions:
1) Work safely. Identify unsafe conditions, and take action to mitigate.
2) Read and comply with written operating procedures
3) Read the production schedule and a production work order. Set-up raw materials and machine conditions to meet the needs of the work order
4) Use a core cutter
5) Locate, retrieve, and stage raw material and packaging supplies to maintain productivity for the shift and for the oncoming shift.
6) Maintain the organization of raw material and packaging supplies at the slitter, including returning un-used packaging to the appropriate warehouse location
7) Read Set-up instructions, and set machine operating conditions via a computerized operator interface
8) Start-up and shut down the slitter
9) Monitor machine operating conditions and alarms. Independently react to correct deviations.
10) Monitor the product during production
11) Monitor machine for equipment malfunctions
12) Assist Maintenance Technicians in repairing equipment malfunctions
13) Use a hoist to handle product
14) Take product samples
15) Perform quality inspection and testing on product
16) Enter quality data into a computerized system
17) Monitor trends of quality data
18) Respond to process or quality upsets. Troubleshoot and correct independently.
19) Complete paperwork (logs, checklists, etc.)
20) Package and label finished product
21) Perform computerized transactions to create inventory and to consume raw material
22) Stage finished product in warehouse using a forklift
23) Package, label, and stage scrap materials
24) Maintain housekeeping in work area
25) Execute product and set-up changes
26) Train new employees on-the-job
27) Offer ideas for improving the performance of the operations
28) Work any shift
29) Work overtime as required
30) Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce film solutions that meet regulatory, ISO, SQF, and company requirements. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Quality Management Systems. Be accountable to the PSI's Food Safety and Quality Principles
