Short Description
Assists interventionalists in all procedures within the scope of interventional Radiology and Vascular surgery to include but not limited to oncology, vascular and trauma.
Skill set must be maintained to handle supplies/instrumentation associated with interventional procedures.
Must be able to assist physicians in the capacity of both a scrub and circulating technologist.
Maintains work area: Reports maintenance issues for equipment, monitors supplies and deficiencies.
Adheres to all Infection Prevention policies, utilizing the appropriate PPE needed.
Maintains licensure and BLS. Stays current and participates departmental training offered.
Demonstrates courteous behavior, positive attitude, etc. through polite communication with all co- workers/customers.
Understands and appreciates the need to provide good customer service, both internal and external.
Participates in clinical activities (i.e. assists with patient flow/care, helps to optimize throughput of patients via Radiology Transport).
Remains compliant of timekeeping rules: Avoids early, late and unauthorized entries.
Adheres to Departmental procedures, fulfills compliance with life safety, fire and hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention requirements.
Attends staff meetings and reviews daily huddles to keep current on department communications.
Experience Required
0-2 years' experience required.
3-5 years' experience preferred.
Education Requirements
High School/GED required.
Associate’s degree preferred.
License/Certification Requirements
AART required.
NJDEP required.
BLS from AMA required.
Special Requirements
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with on call.
Graduate of AMA approved Radiology Technologist Program, NJ DEP license required upon hire.
H.S. Diploma, Certificate of Completion/Degree from accredited Radiology Program or Vascular Program, associate degree preferred.
Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required.
Operate fluoro unit along with all supporting equipment needed to perform interventional procedures required.
