The Paint Prep Operator operates phosphatizing equipment (power washer/spray wand) to prep parts for painting. Operates power hand tools such as: hand grinder, dual action (da) sander and wire wheels. Ability to work with phosphatizing chemicals is a must. Ensures that all parts are prepared prior to painting to ensure paint adhesion.
Essential Job Functions/Major Tasks
Operates phosphatizing equipment on an assortment of products.
Sets up and maintains equipment.
Ensures products are correctly prepared.
Works in a manner in which quality of work and safety are top priorities.
Maintains a neat, clean and organized work area while performing paint prep duties.
Notify direct supervisor of any equipment or tooling that is damaged or not working properly.
Maintains accurate records of time and quantities, etc.
Operate powered industrial truck (forklift) and overhead crane(s).
Must have ability to read and speak English

Good reading skills
Powered hand tool skills
Blueprint Reading skills preferred
