Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio School Safety Center Report In Location - 1970 W Broad Street, Columbus 43223 At the direction of the Policy & Compliance Manager within the Ohio School Safety Center, collect, organize & analyze data, review & analyze problems & information related to potential threats & develop research tools &/or means used in analyzing & disseminating intelligence information & create & implement sophisticated &/or complex criminal & terrorist related analytical products & policies: * Formulate & implement plans, policies & procedures for the receipt of locally & federally-generated time-sensitive threat information (e.g., policies & protocols for state & local governmental entities in homeland security, school safety, emergency management, counterterrorism & protection of critical infrastructure & resources in the State of Ohio) in order to: assess local implications of time-sensitive & emerging threat information; * Identify the dissemination of time-sensitive & emerging threat information to all homeland security partners including schools, first responders & other disciplines; * Serve as resource person & technical advisor in the area of school safety by responding to public information requests pertaining to school safety, emergency management & anonymous reporting system inquiries & resolutions & gathering locally-generated information (i.e., suspicious activity reporting, open-source media scanning information, etc.) based on time-sensitive & emerging threats; * Independently review & analyze problems related to sophisticated &/or complex school safety & emergency management-related activity from other Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) intelligence units & user agency personnel; * Research, track &/or manage school safety, emergency management, security & vulnerability assessment, anonymous reporting & physical safety trends &/or data for review & reporting; * Develop alerts & bulletins; * Develop proper research tools, methods & intelligence request forms to appropriately accommodate intelligence information; * Develop & analyze informational databases, spreadsheets & reports allowing information to be easily exchanged & understood; Prepare intelligence reports, products & briefings for presentation to the Governor's Ohio School Safety Working Group, classified briefings & other administrators; * Coordinate research activities with other departmental units &/or outside agencies; * Assist with the statewide anonymous reporting system for school safety through recruitment &/or registration of K-12 schools for tip line service & provide technical assistance with issues accessing the system; Respond to inquiries from schools related to the tip line & assist schools with response efforts related to tips; Identify & share threats against schools that come in from tip line or from other stakeholders; Update K-12 school contact information; Conduct random & annual reviews of registered users of the tip line to ensure appropriate access; * Assist with promotional materials related to the tip line (e.g., package materials & coordinate mailing to schools across Ohio), create suspicious activity reporting training & other education resources to support this initiative; * Serve as a resource for the OSSC for state & federal systems & databases, such as Communication & Information Management System (CIMS) & Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) (e.g., assist with the protection of both classified & unclassified information access, storage, dissemination & destruction); * Coordinate with the Department of Homeland Security & other federal partners; * Assist with office-related tasks as they pertain to the functionality & operation of the unit; * Create & send notifications/communications as directed by the Ohio School Safety Center leadership; * Deploy within the State of Ohio to provide analytical support during special events; * Represent the OSSC at meetings & conferences as requested; * Perform other related duties as assigned.
