Description:

Performs preventative maintenance and service on cars, trucks, tractors, mowers, weed eaters, sweepers, scrubbers, emergency generators and other motorized equipment owned by the Ohio Expositions Commission (e.g., tunes gas and/or diesel engines, checks for damage, adjusts parts, changes fluids and filters, checks condition of belts and chains, adjusts and/or replaces when necessary). Repairs, rebuilds or replaces major parts (carburetors, alternators, water pumps, fuel pumps, brakes, exhaust systems). Repairs ties, adjusts valves, performs body repair work, replaces shocks, replaces snow-plow blades and other items on equipment owned by the agency.

Maintains records of repairs and maintenance, orders and/or picks up parts, operates welding torches, chop saws, drill presses, gas and electric welders and all equipment that receives service.

Assists in the set-up, clean up and removal or programs and events.

Acts as the maintenance contact for events as assigned to help with the needs of the event, including hauling materials, setting up and removing events.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, washes windows as needed for events.

Closes and secures buildings at close of the event each day.

Keeps records of requests from the event, damages from events, head counts, stall counts and meter readings when needed.

Removes snow and ice from parking lots and walks.

Spreads salt and calcium on parking lots and walks to melt snow and ice.

The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use.

An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment, per Section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of Ohio revised code.

Valid commercial driver's license required.
