The Opportunity We are seeking a Building Engineer to join our growing team in Boston.

This role ensures our healthcare real estate properties are safe, efficient, and well maintained, directly impacting the experience of tenants, visitors, and the communities we serve.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with building systems, inspections, and compliance with The Joint Commission standards and applicable codes.

Healthcare-related experience is preferred.

How You'll Contribute * Maintain compliance with inspection and testing requirements of The Joint Commission and applicable building codes.

* Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, including boilers, compressors, pumps, valves, automation systems, and sanitary systems.

* Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on refrigerant systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, transfer pumps, and valves.

* Perform maintenance and repair on pumps handling brines or secondary refrigerating liquids and air compressors with their distribution systems.

* Maintain and repair water distribution systems including filters, softeners, piping, sinks, toilets, drains, and control devices.

* Maintain and repair motors and engines powering pumps, compressors, and fans.

* Operate fuel oil systems, including pumps, valves, lines, and controls.

* Operate, maintain, and repair building automation systems for HVAC, including consoles, sensors, and control devices.

* Diagnose, perform, or assign maintenance/repairs (major or minor) to vendors as approved by the Property Manager, ensuring timely completion.

* Manage preventative maintenance programs and required inspections (elevators, fire sprinklers, alarms, generators, etc.). * Accurately document work performed in the Angus Anywhere work order system and follow up with tenants on open requests.

* Inspect common areas such as stairwells, roofs, basements, and vacant suites, reporting any needed services.

* Assist with tenant improvement projects and special projects as assigned by the Property Manager.

* Track utility usage, monitor energy efficiency, and recommend cost-saving measures.

* Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; order parts as needed using Anchor-approved processes.

* Coordinate vendor and contractor work, including delivery and schedules.

* Provide emergency maintenance support, including after-hours response when required.

* Promote positive tenant, co-worker, and hospital staff relations with a friendly and professional attitude.

* Mentor other building and maintenance team members, sharing both technical and soft skills.

* Ensure all work follows safety standards set by Anchor, the Owner, OSHA, and state requirements.

What You Bring * Must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and upkeep of the following: * Hand tools: Various wrenches, screwdrivers, grips, sledgehammer, hammer, snips, saws, etc.

* Power Tools: Grinder, sander, drill, saws, etc.

* User-Moved Aids: Wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, buckets, hoists, jacks, ladders, etc.

* Mechanical Equipment: Motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, augers, etc.

* Measuring Devices: Voltmeters, ohmmeters, testing meters, pH tests, etc.

* General maintenance knowledge across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

* Expertise in at least two of the following: HVAC, electrical, or plumbing; certification in one area required.

* High school diploma or trade school required; certifications preferred.

* Healthcare-related facilities experience strongly preferred.

* Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., work in varied physical positions, and tolerate extreme weather.

* Dependability, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to changing schedules.

* Effective communication skills via phone, text, and email.

* Must have a dependable vehicle to transport tools and equipment to job sites.

Must provide proof of liability insurance for the vehicle.

Mileage traveled for work purposes will be reimbursed in accordance with Company and IRS policies.

* High school education or trade school required.

* HVAC / Electrical/Plumbing Certification a plus.
