Job Title: Application Developer L3 Sr Developer
Job Summary:
The Level 3 Application Developer’s role is to participate in the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications. The Application Developer is also responsible for planning, assigning, and directing the maintenance and support of existing systems and applications. This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to enable the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems.
Essential Functions:
Strategy & Planning
Ensure that development projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Recommend Best Practices and Procedures to continuously improve software development and support of existing production systems.
Acquisition & Deployment
Lead the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Lead and collaborate with Business Users\Analysts to determine and document system requirements.
Lead in researching and making of recommendations for new software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
Lead in collaboration with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
Operational Management
Lead code reviews. Conduct meetings with the team to review new project priorities, changes and needs.
Lead in the implementation of SDLC requirements, code reviews, test plans, code migration.
Lead with planning and directing the daily activities of the department personnel in conjunction with leadership.
Cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices.
Minimum Requirements:
Specific Job Skills:
Primary programming language (.NET C#/VB, Java, Python, etc.)
Relational database development (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
Document database / No SQL database (MongoDB, Cosmos DB)
Database design and performance optimization
Object Relational Models (ORMs) (Entity Framework, Hibernate)
Dependency Injection (Spring, Unity, Ninject)
Lead coding standards and best practices
Lead and implement modern UI/UX (i.e., Angular, React, XAML)
Design and ensure automated unit tests pass and are maintained.
Design, implement, maintain CI/CD.
Robust and intelligent exception handling and alerting
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize and multi-task job responsibilities effectively.
Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service within all dimensions of the job duties on a consistent basis.
Ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge to apply to new situations.
Up to 10% travel may be required
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Management and/or an equivalent combination and education and experience that has included a minimum of four-(4) years of Management in a similar role.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
Supervision/Leadership:
Provides general direction, training, and mentoring to L1 and L2 developers
Lead Sprint Planning and Scrums
Sprint reporting to management and stakeholders
Certifications: Dependent on specific product developer is assigned to
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
