Job Title: Application Developer L2
Job Summary:
The Level 2 Application Developer’s role is to participate in the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications. The Application Developer is also responsible for planning, assigning, and directing the maintenance and support of existing systems and applications. This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to enable the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems.
Essential Functions:
Strategy & Planning
Ensure that development projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Acquisition & Deployment
Contribute to the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Collaborate with Business Users\Analysts to determine and document system requirements.
Assist in the researching and making of recommendations for new software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
Operational Management
Identify and resolve program errors.
Participate in code reviews.
Assist in the implementation of SDLC requirements, code reviews, test plans, code migration.
Design, develop, and install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.
Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
Cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices.

Relational database development (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
Document database / No SQL database (MongoDB, Cosmos DB)
Database design and performance optimization
Object Relational Models (ORMs) (Entity Framework, Hibernate)
Dependency Injection (Spring, Unity, Ninject)
Contribute to coding standards and best practices.
Modern UI/UX (i.e. Angular, React, XAML)
Automated unit tests
CI/CD
Azure and Cloud experience preferred
Up to 10% travel may be required
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Management and/or an equivalent combination and education and experience that has included a minimum of four-(4) years of Management in a similar role.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role
Supervision:
Provides basic mentoring and training to L1 developers.
Lead daily scrums when needed.
Certifications: Microsoft development certifications are a plus
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
