The Bartender is primarily responsible for the smooth functioning and service aspect of a full service bar in an elegant restaurant setting. The restaurants are a high volume dining outlet. The Bartender is responsible for delivering the highest caliber of Five Star service to guests in an upbeat, lively environment. Creates a professional atmosphere that is inviting for guests, promoting and enhancing the offerings of a wide range of quality beers on tap, wines, and other spirits, as well as menu items. The Bartender must have an exceptional working knowledge of alcoholic beverage offerings and the ability to create drinks according to guests' requests. Requires an approachable, congenial, engaging personality and the ability to relate and converse with all types of people. Monitors consumption of guests and follows TIPs protocols to ensure a safe environment. Works cohesively with F&B team members to ensure a seamless guest experience.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum two (2) years experience as a Bartender in an upscale or fine dining establishment.

Fluency in the English language.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Thorough knowledge of proper service.

Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Exude a warm and sincere approach to guest service.

Enjoy working in a fast paced, sometimes noisy environment.

Ability to provide service efficiently while conveying a warm and friendly demeanor.

High energy, flexible and adaptable.

Ability to "read" the guest and anticipate guest needs.

Ability to remember orders with accuracy.

Ability to memorize menu and drink items.

Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.

Ability to exercise patience and diplomacy.

Ability to multitask.

Take initiative.

Ability to work without constant, direct supervision.

Experience with Food & Beverage Point-of-Sale Systems, preferably Micros.

Desirable:

Designation from an accredited bartending school.

Experience in hospitality/restaurant industry in a similar position.

TIPs certification.

Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.

CPR certification.

Previous guest relations training.

Experience with Infogenesis POS.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Offer guests in the restaurants an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience.

Dispense, serve, and/or mix all beverages in a timely and efficient manner.

Present cocktails, beer and wine drinks in an elegant manner.

Engage with and anticipate the needs of guests

Ascertain guests' satisfaction and attempt to handle guest issues, notifying manager when necessary.

Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner.

Complete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard.

Present menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the day.

Utilize the point-of-sale system to print and close checks, and handle cash transactions according to OVI protocols.

Responsible for proper cash handling procedures and bank reconciliation, properly process daily reports.

Ensure cleanliness throughout the shift of the bar and restaurant areas.

The pay of rate for this position is $16.50/hour plus tips.

Apply
