Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for a Packaging Engineer.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to lead complex packaging projects, drive qualification activities, and implement cost-effective improvements for our product lines. This role requires a proactive professional with deep technical expertise to standardize packaging, enhance performance, and collaborate cross-functionally in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead complex packaging projects or significant assignments with minimal supervision.

Manage packaging qualification by generating protocols, overseeing testing, analyzing data, and authoring reports.

Provide technical expertise for risk assessments and root cause analyses.

Lead the improvement and standardization of existing product packaging to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.

Plan and execute design of experiments (DOE), perform statistical analysis, and document findings.

Initiate and coordinate packaging line trials, including planning, execution, and post-trial analysis.

Partner with Purchasing and Production to assess cost and feasibility of proposed packaging.

Build and manage internal/external relationships to influence and gain support for initiatives.

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities for new and existing products.

Requirements:

Education

Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering.

Experiences

5 – 10 years of packaging engineering experience.

Proven background in a manufacturing plant environment.

Experience working with various packaging types and designing effective solutions.

Demonstrated experience in developing trial plans, facilitating trials, and updating specifications.

Other

Technical depth in a specific packaging material, format, or process.

Advanced understanding of the full packaging development, qualification, and stage-gate processes.

Advanced knowledge of packaging/labeling requirements and robust validation methodologies.

Advanced skills in project timeline development.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.

Strong ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple activities simultaneously.
