Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist I provides basic support to the accounting team, assisting with simple financial tasks and data entry.
Essential Job Functions
Enter basic financial data into spreadsheets or accounting software under close supervision
Assist in filing and organizing financial documents
Help prepare simple bank deposits
Support the team in basic invoice filing and organization
Assist in matching purchase orders with receipts
Help with basic data entry for accounts payable and receivable
Assist in preparing and mailing checks under supervision
Perform basic office tasks such as scanning, copying, and mailing
Other entry-level duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
0-1 years of general office, internship, or part-time work experience
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
Basic understanding of accounting terms and concepts
Work Environment
Professional office setting
Primarily sedentary role with some light filing duties
Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers
May be part-time or full-time, depending on organizational needs
No travel typically required
