About the Role

Experience in a hedge fund, investment bank, or financial data vendor environment is a must.

Our client is building a new enterprise Data Warehouse to support our trading and investment teams and are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, workflows, and infrastructure that make trading and market data accurate, reliable, and readily available for downstream systems and users.

What You’ll Do

Design, build, and maintain Python-based ETL pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and validating large volumes of trading and market data.

Develop and deploy data models using Snowflake and dbt (or SQL Mesh) to support high-performance data storage and retrieval.

Orchestrate and automate data workflows with Airflow and Jenkins.

Build and manage cloud-based data infrastructure on AWS for structured and unstructured data.

Implement data quality checks, validation, and governance to ensure accuracy and reliability of all datasets.

Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and quantitative teams to understand data requirements and support production.

Optimize pipelines and workflows for low latency and high throughput, critical for quantitative research and trading systems.

Document system architecture, data flows, and technical solutions for reproducibility and operational transparency.

What We’re Looking For

Strong hands-on experience with Python, Snowflake, dbt (or SQL Mesh), SQL, AWS, Airflow, and Jenkins.

Proven track record in building and maintaining high-volume ETL pipelines and data infrastructure.

Knowledge of trading data (market data, orders, executions, P&L, risk).

Experience in a hedge fund, investment bank, or financial data vendor environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with streaming or real-time data architectures.

Exposure to data governance, lineage, or cataloging tools.

Additional scripting or automation experience beyond Python.Company Description
