Job Description:

We are seeking experienced Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurses for a 13-week night shift travel contract at the James Cancer Hospital. Nurses will provide care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of solid tumor cancers throughout all phases of treatment, including end-of-life care. The unit emphasizes patient safety, infection prevention, and fall risk protocols.

This is a self-scheduling unit with a goal patient ratio of 1:4 (max 1:5). Nurses will float to other Med-Surg Oncology units as needed.

Unit Information:

Unit: 17 East and West, Medical Oncology and Benign Hematology (CC96171)

Daily Census: 36 patients

Beds: 36

Specialties: Breast, Lung, Prostate, Pancreatic, Colon, and Esophageal Cancers; Antineoplastic Chemotherapy

Equipment: Epic EMR, GE Telemetry (B450), Bladder Scanner, Alaris Pumps, Stryker Beds

Required Experience:

Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience

Oncology experience preferred but not required

Travel experience preferred

Must have valid Compact or Ohio RN License in hand at submission

Certifications:

Required: BLS (AHA)

Preferred: ONS Chemotherapy

Required Skills:

Epic Charting

Telemetry Monitoring and Interpretation

IV Therapy/Phlebotomy

Central Line Care & Blood Draw

Blood Product Administration

Management of Dysrhythmias

Infection Prevention & Isolation Protocols
