Job Description
MyOme is seeking a motivated Clinical Genomic Specialist to support clinical whole genome sequencing for both Proactive and Rare Disease products. In this role, you will review clinical documentation, contribute to clinical report writing, and provide guidance to ordering clinicians. You will also serve as a genomic testing resource for internal teams, help ensure efficient and accurate order processing, and collaborate cross-functionally to support various projects.
Responsibilities
Review clinical documentation and extract appropriate HPO terms to support interpretation and reporting
Draft clinical reports across proactive and rare disease whole genome sequencing products
Perform variant assessment and classification across proactive and rare disease whole genome sequencing products.
Provide genomic genetic testing expertise and support to the internal client services team regarding test selection, test performance, and laboratory processes.
Leverage awareness of current processes and systems to suggest ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues and maintain excellent patient and provider satisfaction.
Develop clinical content, including patient-facing education materials and provider resources, to support clear communication and effective use of genetic testing results.
Collaborate on publications, product launches, marketing pieces, and other projects as opportunities arise.
Skills and Experience
MS in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program
ABGC/ABMG certification or active candidate status required
1-3 years of previous genetic counseling experience
Previous laboratory genetic counseling experience in the exome/genome space preferred
Must possess a strong working knowledge of human genetics and diagnostic genetic testing concepts
Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and organized
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging content for a variety of audiences.
Location, Compensation, and Benefits
Location: Remote. Occasional travel required for team meetings or conferences.
Compensation: $100,000-$115,000 /year, depending on experience; equity; and the following benefits:
