They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to support outlet operations and provide leadership across multiple venues. In this role, the Assistant Manager will work closely with management to oversee daily operations, support staffing and recruitment, and ensure financial and performance goals are achieved. The position requires strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced, unionized environment.
This is a full-time, salaried opportunity with a starting salary of $60,000–$65,000+, along with extended health and dental benefits and a pension plan.
Description
Assist in managing the daily operations of the assigned restaurant, lounge, or outlet
Provide leadership, coaching, and development to a large front-line team, fostering engagement and performance excellence
Support staffing, scheduling, and recruitment initiatives to meet business needs
Ensure the profitability of outlet operations by monitoring and achieving financial and performance goals
Review and recommend policies or procedural changes to improve efficiency and service delivery
Monitor and analyze customer satisfaction results, preparing reports and identifying opportunities for improvement
Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution to ensure positive outcomes
Oversee inventory administration, cost of goods, and labour control alongside the Manager
Support promotions, entertainment events, and special functions within outlets
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations while maintaining a safe, clean work environment
Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in restaurant or bar operations
Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, hospitality, and F&B trends
Experience managing a large team and motivating staff in a high-volume environment
Familiarity with budgets, cost control, and financial performance metrics
Knowledge of Employment Standards, Health & Safety, and Liquor License Act
Smart Serve and Food Handlers certification required (WHMIS training provided)
Eligibility for AGCO Category 1 Licensing
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work flexible hours in a 24/7 operation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Experience managing in a unionized environment is considered an asset
