JOB SUMMARY
Provides front door customer service for the Grounded Café or mobile cafe. Assists with greeting customers, processing orders and assuring high quality service is delivered in a timely fashion to customers ordering at the Grounded Café or mobile cafe. Assist, if needed, with operation of the congregate dining site at the ADRC's Grounded Cafe, including assisting customers, serving meals, meeting food safety and program standards, and supporting volunteers and trainees.
Essential Duties
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets customers acting as an ambassador for the Grounded Café or mobile cafe. Resolve customer concerns and receive compliments assuring staff of the Café or mobile café are communicated to about customer comments.
Takes orders and completes transactions at the Grounded Café or mobile cafe kiosk using the Grounded Café Point of Sale applications.
Promote the mission, menu, and retail products of the Grounded Café to customers.
Assures the Grounded Café or mobile café environment, including tables, surfaces, and food products are clean, well presented, and representative of the high-quality business it is. Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met according to Health Department standards and Nutrition Program guidelines.
Assist in the preparation of food and beverages and restock preparation areas during business hours. Assist in serving noon meal to Dining Site Customers during dining hours.
Greet and register diners as well as explain the Dining Site and Nutrition Program.
Support and mentor dining site volunteers and trainees.
Assist Café Leads with program documentation, temperatures, congregate registrations, etc. as needed.
Handle Grounded Cafe and dining site donations according to Federal and ADRC policies.
Assists with inventory tracking as needed.
Provide back-up for other Nutrition Program activities and ADRC services, as needed.
Participate as a team player to further Agency goals.
Other duties as assigned by Café Leaders and Nutrition Program Manager.
Has a "Duty to Report" during a community emergency/disaster according to the ADRC Emergency Preparedness Plan.
Minimum Qualifications Required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Licenses and Certifications:
CPR/AED Certification and Serving Safe Food Certification. Will help obtain within the first year of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lifting 25 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
Extended periods of standing; intermittent sitting and walking.
Using hand(s) for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and operating controls.
Occasional bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, reaching and grappling.
Communicating orally in a clear manner.
Distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes.
Distinguishing people, objects or injuries at varied distances under a variety of light conditions.

Retirement Benefit
ADRC contributes 8% of compensation into a 403(b)-thrift plan retirement program administered by Mutual of America after 1 year and 1000 hours worked, with a generous vesting schedule.
Employees who work at or above 20 hours per week are eligible to contribute toward their own retirement plan thru payroll deduction. Employee contributions can be made as pre-tax "Tax Deferred Annuity" and/or after-tax "Roth IRA" also administered by Mutual of America.
