JSSA's Billing department has an immediate opening for a full-time Patient Accounts Specialist to join our team. We are one of Washington metropolitan area's most established and fastest-growing child, family and senior social services agencies, with offices in Maryland and Northern Virginia. Our staff serve a nonsectarian, highly diverse clientele struggling with a broad range of emotional, social, physical and developmental challenges as well as home care and hospice services. This position is responsible for the daily billing activities in JSSA's Hospice program.
Responsibilities:
Verify insurance and obtain prior authorizations
Create 81As/81Bs
Check Status of 81As and upload screenshots
Submit Medicaid E-Request Enrollments/Dis-Enrollments
Create and Post Visits
Generate Charges
Create and claims
Import payments
Fix any rejected/denied claims in EHR and Medicare database
Perform Adjustments as needed
Run daily, weekly, monthly reports in EHR
Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Patient Accounts.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required. 4 year degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in processing high volume, third-party medical billings.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance regulations and third-party billings.
Experience with Hospice EMR/EHR billing systems. Homecare Homebase electronic medical record billing experience preferred.
Outstanding communications skills and the ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
Highly proficient with MS Office 365 applications
Proficient skills with Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP),
Able to handle confidential information and understand HIPAA.
