POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Global Planning Process Transformation & Inventory Management will lead the transformation and continuous improvement of planning and inventory management processes across all global manufacturing sites of the company.
This role is responsible for defining and executing the global strategy for material planning, inventory optimization, and enabling technologies-including IT systems and emerging AI capabilities.
The Director will ensure global alignment of planning practices with business objectives, enhance operations agility, and deliver best-in-class operational delivery and inventory performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Leadership and Strategy * Develop and drive the vision, roadmap, and execution plan for global planning process transformation and inventory optimization, aligned with Vertiv operations goals.
* Act as a strategic thought leader for the integration of advanced planning tools, AI-driven insights, and digital transformation in planning and inventory operations.
* Build a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across all regions planning team.

Global Planning and Inventory Management Process * Design and implement standardized, scalable material planning processes across all regional plants to improve reliability, responsiveness, and efficiency.
* Ensure robust processes for demand planning, supply planning, capacity planning, and SIOP are harmonized both in global and regional level, merged into Vertiv Operating Model.
* Lead the adoption and effective design and use of planning IT systems (e.g., ERP, APS, AI-based platforms) and drive their continuous improvement.
* Develop budgets, forecasts, and business cases for investments in planning and inventory initiatives.
* Track and report on transformation progress, benefits realization, and ROI of key initiatives.

Operational Excellence and Optimization * Establish and monitor key metrics (e.g., DIO) to drive inventory efficiency while ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Identify and implement best practices across all regional plants.
* Apply data analytics and AI tools to enhance decision-making and scenario planning capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration * Partner with manufacturing, procurement, sales, finance, IT, and other stakeholders to align planning and inventory strategies with business needs.
* Act as leading the global planning process transforming, ensuring effective governance and change management across regions and functions.
* Foster collaboration between regional teams to share knowledge and standardize practices.

Talent Development and Team Building * Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global planning and inventory management team.
* Assess organizational capability gaps and develop succession plans and training programs to build functional expertise.
* Inspire teams to embrace transformation, change, and innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS * Education: * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
* Experience: * Minimum of 12-15 years in global supply chain or operations leadership roles, with proven experience in planning process transformation, inventory management, and IT/technology enablement.
* Skills: * Expertise in advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and experience deploying and optimizing such systems globally.
* Deep knowledge of planning best practices, inventory optimization techniques.
* Familiarity with AI applications in planning is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership and change management skills, with a track record of influencing at senior executive levels.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively across cultures and lead dispersed global teams.
* Professional certifications (e.g., APICS) are a plus.
