As a Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, analyzing, reviewing, and coordinating civil and structural designs, with a strong emphasis on foundation engineering using tools like MAT3D, STAAD.Pro, and Foundation 3D. All designs must comply with ADNOC standards, applicable international codes, and specific project requirements for onshore oil & gas facilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform advanced foundation analysis and design for:
Equipment foundations, pipe racks, substations, storage tanks, vertical vessels, compressors, and pump foundations.
Complex mat foundations, pile foundations, and combined footings using MAT3D, STAAD.Pro, and Foundation 3D.
Develop and review deliverables for:
Underground utilities (stormwater, OWS, FOC, sewer, etc.)
Roads, pavements, grading, fencing, and general site infrastructure.
Prepare and review:
Structural analysis models and detailed foundation calculation reports.
Design documents including MTOs, material specifications, datasheets, and technical reports.
Civil and structural layout drawings including trench layouts, grading plans, foundation plans, and cross-sections.
Ensure alignment with ADNOC Onshore specifications, ACI, BS, ASTM, API, and other international standards.
Participate in Interdisciplinary coordination (IDC), 3D model reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and technical workshops.
Provide support during FEED, detailed design (DD), procurement, and construction phases.
Vendor document reviews, RFIs, and technical bid evaluations for civil packages.
Ensure design safety, structural integrity, and functionality across all civil/structural components.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (mandatory)
8-15 years of experience in civil and structural design within the oil & gas sector, preferably in onshore environments.
Minimum 3 years of experience with ADNOC projects, with a solid understanding of their civil standards and workflows.
Proficiency in MAT3D, STAAD.Pro, and Foundation 3D is essential.
Additional software proficiency: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and familiarity with SP3D or similar modeling tools.
Good understanding of UAE local regulations, desert site conditions, and geotechnical considerations.
Strong coordination experience with other disciplines: piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process.
Capable of mentoring and leading small teams of designers/drafters.
Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
Experience with sustainability, environmental permitting, and constructability in desert/oilfield environments is a plus.
ADNOC Onshore, ADNOC Gas, ADNOC Offshore, or other Middle East oil & gas operators (Preferred).
Working knowledge of soil-structure interaction, vibration analysis for rotating equipment, and pile group analysis(Preferred).
Experience with steel and concrete design for brownfield and greenfield projects(Preferred).
