LOCATION PLANNER
IMPACT ON BUSINESS:
The Location Planner is responsible for achieving sales, profit and turn objectives by developing strategies to maximize inventories by location and business category. They will be able to navigate ambiguity and react quickly to business needs. The Location Planner will lead others and need to motivate, influence, and inspire as well as provide leadership and training to others. The Location Planner will report to a Group Planner or Divisional Planning Manager.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [Essential Functions]:
Develop plans to achieve the business objectives including sales, inventory, and turn by store grouping and/or climate zone. Manage plans pre and post season.
Conduct analysis by location to identify growth opportunities or disparities. Develop actionable strategies with business partners to maximize sales and gross margin.
Develop and execute set and exit strategies to optimize seasonal transitions by zone and store grouping.
Provide leadership to Assistant Planner in thoughtful allocations and location plan development.
Travel to markets to identify opportunities to better service the guest and take action to maximize sales and profit.
Develop and execute strategic initiatives for corporate programs (i.e. Climate, High Density, Focus, Season Transition) as needed.
Develop critical partnerships to maximize profit and drive business with planning counterparts and Regional leaders.
Partner with New Store Team to ensure strategies are embedded in non comp locations.
Determine eligibility, flow timing and assortments by store grouping based on product performance results and analysis.
Lead monthly business review meetings with Group Planner, Planner, DMM, DPM to align on strategy for current and future shipping periods that supports guest demand.
Responsible for utilizing systems and tools to effectively execute location strategies by developing and building best practices for the Location Planning process.
Read and react to business weekly and re-forecast plans in season. Develop actionable strategies with business partners to maximize sales and gross margin.
Work independently and cross functionally; be able to influence merchant partners to implement strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Four year degree preferred.
Three years or more of work-related experience is preferred.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team player with a positive mental attitude; self-motivated.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to occasionally work varying hours.
