Job Summary
The Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, work papers and analysis; accounting; preparing and reviewing forecast, budget and regulatory information; and computing, reviewing and recording taxes. This position is for Property Tax with some exposure to other indirect taxes.
Job Description
What You'll Do:
Prepare/review state and local property tax (indirect) returns, reports, estimates, work papers, and analyses.
Prepare/review indirect tax schedules for financial reports, forecasts, regulatory filings, and special studies.
Prepare/review analyses and work papers to support annual deferrals and monthly reporting of indirect tax accruals, including the reconciliation of tax accrual accounts.
Review and process property tax payments to state and local tax jurisdictions.
Negotiate property values with state and local tax jurisdictions.
Actively participate in continuous process improvement initiatives, including the utilization of technology tools such as Power BI, Power Query, Alteryx, etc.
Monitor indirect tax legislative, administrative, and judicial developments across the U.S. and ascertain how proposed and enacted changes will affect the company.
Conduct and/or supervise tax research and planning related to business activities and identify tax risks.
Work closely with business to understand new product initiatives and advise on the applicability of non-income tax laws.
Research tax issues/questions and prepare written analysis and conclusions.
Participate in the state and local tax audit process including the preparation and review of responses to internal and external auditors’ questions, and review and prepare responses to audit assessments
Skills:
Software: PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, UIPlanner.
Working knowledge of data analytics (Power BI, Power Query, Alteryx, etc.).
Strong attention to detail, well developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with customers and team members.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Work Experience requirement listed below:
Tax Analyst Senior:
Three (3) years of total work experience in business, finance, or accounting disciplines with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in tax functions.
Tax Analyst Principal:
Five (5) years of total work experience in business, finance, or accounting disciplines with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in tax functions.
Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:
Professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA) preferred.
Graduate Business Degree preferred.

Base between the salary range of $85,081 - $124,941 (depending on years of experience and skill set)
