Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg float pool night shift position requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least two years of med/surg experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg float pool

Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Night shifts: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00PM - 7:30AM), including some weekends and holidays

Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5

Care for a varied adult Med/Surg patient population

Uses EPIC EMR, with prior EPIC experience required

Provide high-quality nursing care to a range of Med/Surg patients

Must be available to float to additional units as necessary

Holiday coverage is required according to unit needs

Locals are accepted for this position

RTO must be declared and approved before contract begins

Former employees are eligible if at least 6 months have passed since last employment

Current employees of the specified health system are not eligible as travelers

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration

Current BCLS certification

Minimum of 2 years' recent Med/Surg RN experience

Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring

Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

Ability and willingness to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly

Two professional references required, one from a supervisor or manager
