Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring MI RN licensure and prior travel and telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

Position is based in a Magnet, Level 1 Trauma, short-term acute care hospital

Work primarily on MS/Tele units with expected floating to all adult acute care, med/surg, and stepdown units

Patient ratios typically range from 1:4-6

Night shifts are scheduled as three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30

Every 4-week period requires working three weekends

Epic EMR is used, Epic experience is required

No on-call responsibilities

Must agree to float to all adult acute care, med/surg, and stepdown units as needed

Ability to manage caseloads of 4-6 patients is required

First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment

Modules must be completed pre-start and are self-reported

Must be available for 2 out of 3 major holidays, including the day before and after each

Scrub color is hunter green

Parking is free with badge access to garage

Locals are accepted at the same pay rate and may complete one contract

If returning as a prior core staff member, a 12-month break is required before reapplying

All RTO must be submitted at the time of initial profile and is limited to 5 days per contract; no block scheduling allowed

Specific RTO is not permitted during designated blackout dates

Requirements

Active Michigan RN license required by start date (compact licenses are not accepted)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred)

Minimum of 2 years RN experience preferred

Prior travel and telemetry nursing experience required

Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required

Proof of high school level education required

Epic charting experience required
